A few months ago while putting together a personal mailer package to send to local agencies, I created this set of 3 hand-lettered, inspiring postcards. I get asked quite a bit about my process and how I design, so I thought I would show my entire process from sketch to completion. After I complete the hand-lettered sketch, sometimes I use a micron marker to make the sketch black before scanning and will use live trace in Illustrator and clean up the edges. Other times when I don’t micron a piece I choose to trace it in Illustrator using the pen tool.
